- Program Manager, Y-12 National Security Complex
Dr. Chantell Murphy is a nuclear nonproliferation expert with 12 years of varied experience creating, developing, and executing innovative ideas that progress the nonproliferation field into a more ethical and inclusive future. As a Program Manager at Y-12 National Security Complex, Dr. Murphy leads the first study developing an ethical framework for using artificial intelligence in international safeguards technology, works on diversity, equity, inclusion, and is helping to launch a program focusing on the impacts of climate change on nonproliferation. Outside of work, Dr. Murphy is creating a video about rock climbing in nuclear spaces, is a member of the Board of Directors for the Good Energy Collective, serves on the executive committee to the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management, and is the Co-Chair of the OrgsinSolidarity working group supporting organizations led by Black people and people of color working in the peace and security field.
