Sample Focus Areas and Minors

The flexibility of the Engineering Physics program allows students to focus on their particular interests. The following are sample focus areas selected by students in the past:

  • Chemical Processing
  • Computer Aided Production
  • Computer Systems Design
  • Hydrology
  • Materials Science
  • Nuclear Fission
  • Optical Technology – Electricity and Magnetism
  • Plasma Science and Engineering
  • Radiological Health Engineering
  • Remote Sensing

Students can also pursue academic minors in most schools and colleges within U-M. Many Engineering Physics students choose minors in the College of Engineering, the College of Literature, Science & the Arts or in the school of Art & Design.
