Paul (BSE NE ’74, MSE ’76, MBA ’84) and Karen Fessler have provided a gift for endowment to establish the Paul and Karen Fessler Endowed Student Support Fund. This fund will provide need-based support to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the College of Engineering. This gift qualifies for the Bicentennial Opportunity Matching Initiative.

Paul Fessler currently serves as senior vice president and chief nuclear officer at DTE Energy Company, where he oversees the company’s nuclear energy operations, including engineering and capital projects. Prior to his current role at DTE, Mr. Fessler was the senior vice president of electrical operations, in which he was responsible for all distribution and fossil generation operations for DTE Energy. A proud alumnus of the U-M, Mr. Fessler offers guidance and support on the industry advisory board for the Tauber Institute for Global Operations. He and his wife, Karen, reside in Plymouth, MI.
